Plan for the arizing of a public awareness on justice and development issues on the basis of ASSEFA India experience.

Since several years ASSEFA Italia has been working in Italy in order to sustain ASSEFA India activities and to favour the arizing of an Italian awareness on integrated development items both in India and in Third Countries. ASSEFA Italia aims to sustain Indian rural development, the interdependence between western post industrial welfare and those of Developping Countries on the basis of Sarva Seva Farms model; ASSEFA Italia, moreover, finance a large number of ASSEFA INDIA projects; and in our country has been operating for several years an Association called ASSEFA.

ASSEFA Italia main office is in Sanremo and several supporting Groups are located in Italian main cities. These supporting groups were created thanks to the collaboration of people sensible to the above mentioned issues and to the Gandhian no violence philosophy. ASSEFA Italia has always encouraged ASSEFA Groups to visit ASSEFA India villages in order to verify on site the real practical project realization. Both ASSEFA Italia and ASSEFA Groups have promoted a large number of initiatives, always based on the principle of integrated development.

School Information programme and School Linking

ASSEFA Italia really believes that children should get involved into solidarity and development issues, therefore organises, since several years, information programmes at all school levels. ASSEFA Italia promotes School Linking between Indian and Italian schools and youth associations. School Information programmes are carried through movies and slides showing, aimed to favour a debate on solidarity and development issues. School Linking are based on letter and drawing exchanges, working groups aimed to the comprehension of different way of life (homes, food, religion, environment). ASSEFA ITALIA thinks that those school programmes are highly educational for Italian schoolarships, as a first step to get in touch with the Indian culture and the socio economic situation of indian villages. Those brothership and solidarity are spread all over the Countries. Up to now 80 schools are involved in our programmes, but we believe this number will soon increase.

Children Sponsorship

Children Sponsorship is explained in another page.
In this session we give you some information about how we send the money collected to India and its use on site:
- two three times a year, the money collected is sent to India by bank transfer. Every consignment is completed with an itemized statement of allotment of money by project. ASSEFA India always send back to ASSEFA Italia main office a receipt. Each donation made by the sponsor parent is registered on a prospect and it is completed with the indian child name, sponsor parent name, number of instalment sent and any eventual free donation made by the sponsor parent. Sponsor parents may always ask a copy of the above mentioned statement;
- Sponsor parent may verify school and life improvement of his indian child through the exchange of letters. ASSEFA Italia receives from India periodical reports on ASSEFA activities. Sponsor parent may always receive information about ongoing projects;
- Sponsor Parents Groups organize trips to India in order to visit ASSEFA villages and to know their child. ASSEFA Italia always inform ASSEFA India about these trips and sponsor parents are taken to visit the village in which their children live.

Microrealization financing in one of ASSEFA field

The numerous groups of sympathizers which leave in the principal Italian cities have supported microrealizations taking in charge the global development of some villages in Tamil Nadu (South india). If an Italian ASSEFA Group wants to establish a direct contact with one of the villages involved in ASSEFA India programmes the Group can take care of the village along its development. It means to visit the village and to collect the necessary funds for the realization of the programme. For this reason the group will organize numerous initiatives.ASSEFA India sends detailed information and photographic material to the Group about the destination of the amount of money collected and the course of works.

ASSEFA Italia promotes and makes easier the relationships between western financiers and ASSEFA India for what concerns the realization of wide development projects.
